Cancellation of Council meeting on 13 July 2021 due to the delay in relaxation of social distancing measures during the continuing Coronavirus (COVID-19) pandemic and calling of an additional Council meeting on 22 July 2021

To cancel the Council meeting due to take place on 13 July 2021 and call an additional Council meeting instead to take place on 22 July 2021.

Decision type: Non-key

Decision status: Recommendations Approved

Wards affected: (All Wards);

Notice of proposed decision first published: 18/06/2021

This decision will be taken under urgency procedures.

Reason for urgency:
Due to the guidance issued by the Government, having individuals attend meetings at the Civic Centre would place people at risk. It is no longer lawful to hold a Council meeting remotely as the Covid legislation that enabled this has expired. Cancelling the meeting allows a Council Meeting to be held at a later date in line with the Governments timetable concerning social distancing measures being relaxed.
